The Little Things

There are certain things in this world that just give me a warm, cozy feeling. A few of them are depicted here. I love a motley assortment of clocks, especially the ones that make a loud persistent ticking. I could sit in a quiet room all day and listen to the ticking of a few clocks. I absolutely intend to have a vintage clock collection one day.

Something else that makes my day is a hot cup of coffee or tea in the morning, or on a cold winter day. Cold, here in the deep South is between 50 to 30 degrees, which to you may be nice weather for the month of January. Here, in Louisiana, we drink Community Coffee which originated in Baton Rouge 80 years ago. It was dubbed the state coffee of Louisiana. If you've never tried it, I highly recommend it for its richness.

Another thing that I absolutely enjoy is tasting foods of the world. Did I mention that Trey works at the family business where goods are made and imported from China? Well, the nice Taiwanese guys at the factory sent Trey's mom a big box full of their tasty fruit filled cookies. She, in turn, gave us a few to try. I love the packaging. It's so graphic with the bright colors and elegant Chinese characters running down the side of the tiny box. At the risk of stepping into pack rat territory, I think I'll keep the boxes just in case I need them for a project some day.
