Pen to Paper

Enough with the procrastination already! I finally sent that Christmas gift, Starbucks money in a way overpriced felt pouch, with a V-day card. Who ever heard of celebrating the two together? I really enjoyed choosing the card and my wording, writing on the envelope, licking, sealing, and stamping it. How old fashioned of me! I may be a weirdo, but I actually like the way the envelope glue tastes. I know what you're probably thinking. Ew! Don't you know bugs crawl all over the glue and... that urban legend about the woman cutting her tongue... However, I digress.

I used to send letters all the time when I was a kid. Slowly, e-mail has replaced the joy of the sensory experience I once delighted in. If more people sent letters, or even a quick postcard note, then I'd be more likely to check my mail. If Trey didn't get the mail every day, I would probably leave it there for days. That is really so trifling of me, not to mention embarrassing to admit, because the mailbox is on the wall right next to my front door. I don't even have to step one foot on the porch to get it. Sheesh! Imagine if it was across the yard. That's just too far to walk, especially in the rain or cold! I'd never get the post.
