Girl Green

I really tried to turn a new leaf today when I decided that I was going to plant greenery in our barren front yard. I've never planted a thing in my life. The closest I've come to gardening would be to buy a pre-potted plant, and hopefully if it didn't require too much watering, I wouldn't kill it. I enlisted the help of my friend Rosalyn, who is plant crazy. She treats her many varieties like little children, each with a different personality. Obviously, she seemed like the best candidate to help make sense of the enigma that is gardening.

We went to a couple of local nurseries where I found a silvery sage plant, some furry grassy stuff that I felt like I could really cozy up to, and a succulent that did not give me the creeps, or threaten to poke holes in me. Though, I'm not quite sure what it is or how to care for it because it didn't come with a tag. After hours of deliberating and planning, I decided that I had gotten just what I needed. That is, until I got home and took a look at my little plot of land. How did I not realize that four plants was just not enough to fill in the sad empty spaces all along the front of the house? Wow, call me green, and not because I'm a nature girl. Wednesday, I'll be going back to that nursery, and this time I'll have a plan.

I'm with you on killing the plants-I have a black thumb! We've(Jr!)been working on ours a bit too. Once you get finished it's a nice feeling to watch them grow.
