Stop by to check it out, and don't forget to say Hi while you're there. Sorry to those of you who have me on your blogrolls, but I've had it with Blogger. We're breaking up, so to speak.<br /><br />My new address is <a href="http://www.monicacrowe.com">www.monicacrowe.com</a><br /><br />"See you" there!Monica Yvettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09028176661102281160noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7995040793354536290.post-54654065341352998912007-08-04T16:11:00.001-07:002007-08-04T16:47:21.242-07:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPvxcx_kG0e8b-8jN26Bw_zoASfA3u4Wu2Y890TmpL1RTZ2i6_7WcSrkRKYNd3qcoe026hRLYmq0_GhTClQw6C7gleOxjYTLM8trevbk7WzjFK6QG-Et4M_beQjahkJnf0Pdj7bdRFXt0/s1600-h/nice.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPvxcx_kG0e8b-8jN26Bw_zoASfA3u4Wu2Y890TmpL1RTZ2i6_7WcSrkRKYNd3qcoe026hRLYmq0_GhTClQw6C7gleOxjYTLM8trevbk7WzjFK6QG-Et4M_beQjahkJnf0Pdj7bdRFXt0/s400/nice.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5094987539884689234" border="0" /></a>I made it in! I'm going back to school this fall, and am actually very excited about this because lately, I've been feeling at a loss of things to do. I can't wait to get fresh notebooks, pens, and to go shopping for "school clothes". It's like being a kid all over again.<br /><br />This prim and perfect closet inspired me to redo my own. It's looking very good, though I'm not quite finished yet. Yesterday, my extreme organizing session caused me to purge heaps of clothes that weren't ever going to be worn again, along with other accessories like belts and such. One garage sale coming up!Monica Yvettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09028176661102281160noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7995040793354536290.post-19885649881926706532007-07-30T14:15:00.000-07:002007-07-30T14:39:06.427-07:00Full Circle<div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjH_886AqrmEToe-wBF35PC40ImAtUGMZOSNOCdBKBIgeCgYvw-K_ECK6r_1THzQ0fh7dXAwJ4cyAjOA2Ujfy0xtbRVXbHma0_xiHyGBXQi0Lbb-t2D4OWvrFwRJ2biw-D5Ab3eqtd2UQ4/s1600-h/facilities_photo1.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5093102603292526338" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjH_886AqrmEToe-wBF35PC40ImAtUGMZOSNOCdBKBIgeCgYvw-K_ECK6r_1THzQ0fh7dXAwJ4cyAjOA2Ujfy0xtbRVXbHma0_xiHyGBXQi0Lbb-t2D4OWvrFwRJ2biw-D5Ab3eqtd2UQ4/s400/facilities_photo1.jpg" border="0" /></a>I know it's been a while since I last wrote, but as you may have noticed, I have been making some very life altering decisions lately. What I've decided is that I'm going back to school to finish my art degree in Graphic Design. Since I already have a laundry list of previous credits, this will only take me two years to complete.<br /><br />Trey and I still intend to continue learning about real estate to prepare ourselves for the right time for us to purchase. A few setbacks that gave me such a stressful time last week have thrown a wrench in our plans, but we're mostly undeterred.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEha0yV-ueQH4IFsyJSTZCPn1P_b6Okv9ilugCdseQK2Oz9id55IoHRYewyjNWQ9Ej2XYpJ7aeilWvil3GEVlkENhZ385nnUPH5w9HEw4AAoOyxOchvEzduLuFGK6pnpIjiWLNuXw4nUIBY/s1600-h/facilities_photo2.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5093102525983114994" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEha0yV-ueQH4IFsyJSTZCPn1P_b6Okv9ilugCdseQK2Oz9id55IoHRYewyjNWQ9Ej2XYpJ7aeilWvil3GEVlkENhZ385nnUPH5w9HEw4AAoOyxOchvEzduLuFGK6pnpIjiWLNuXw4nUIBY/s400/facilities_photo2.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div align="center"><span style="font-size:78%;">Graphic Design Lab</span></div>These photos that I've posted are photos of the <a href="http://www.art.latech.edu/about_invitation.html">La. It's kind of funny because back then, I couldn't wait to move on to better places. You are probably just as shocked as I am. Last weekend, when I changed the upper cabinet vignette, he huffed and hawed when I asked him for help. This weekend, he actually took the initiative to move the seating arrangement in the living room. It was his idea. Though, I guess moving furniture<em> is</em> more manly than arranging trinkets. We later added this rug to the area to anchor it in the large, open concept living room.<br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRTT9Cb4CsldnIWzyQVxECNFWBpgJLbLJBsPLZC14miovYkALy-uCKQAyI2pMSWzCl8Q7l44cTXFNWBmNs7ptDkejCe-urvyyUJvJGmfhelWgPVrVAxFxMOhqfocIcT3gbfHzHm4gabyw/s1600-h/perk.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5090414215758235250" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRTT9Cb4CsldnIWzyQVxECNFWBpgJLbLJBsPLZC14miovYkALy-uCKQAyI2pMSWzCl8Q7l44cTXFNWBmNs7ptDkejCe-urvyyUJvJGmfhelWgPVrVAxFxMOhqfocIcT3gbfHzHm4gabyw/s400/perk.jpg" border="0" /></a> Next, we finally got around to unpacking a set of dishes that we got as a wedding gift two years ago. This required us to wash, and pack away all of the white, bistro style dishes we've been using, another wedding gift. The "new" set is such a nice change. Well, I love her to death, but she is just a little piggy! This morning, she danced, and jumped, and spinned around excitedly in expectation of her morning meal. I set her food and a large bowl of water down. Happily, she inhaled the whole bowl of water, and then began to gobble her food. Twenty minutes later, when I got up from the couch to answer the phone, I discovered that she'd left me some nice and quite unexpected presents. I found not one, not two, but<em> four</em> puddles of Lulu vomit on the floor. She even left me a little spot on the rug! Ack! Disgusting. What will I ever do with you Lulu? </div></div><br /><br /></blockquote>Monica Yvettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09028176661102281160noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7995040793354536290.post-35131771207696229482007-07-19T19:49:00.001-07:002007-07-19T20:02:07.522-07:00Investor To Be: That's Me!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVGlgqWEms4WfgfeirMRhBbXF1lvoRt27F_4_mD9q3VrCnx9UiJDoKKVQwfBMFXMCsWpbTJa8Nfu9yufxQ7BonZ9rut3vwtgL5w1ZrNGYb4qC5BdGX5KvUOFWnN3PlgDo8xHjXYN4YmOE/s1600-h/utilize.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVGlgqWEms4WfgfeirMRhBbXF1lvoRt27F_4_mD9q3VrCnx9UiJDoKKVQwfBMFXMCsWpbTJa8Nfu9yufxQ7BonZ9rut3vwtgL5w1ZrNGYb4qC5BdGX5KvUOFWnN3PlgDo8xHjXYN4YmOE/s400/utilize.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5089106223244488898" border="0" /></a>Big news here! Trey and I have found the first property that we hope to be investing in. It's a duplex with lots of charm, and character in the Garden District. Tonight, we took the plunge, met with our Realtor, and put an offer in to the seller. It's too soon to tell where the tide will turn, but we should know if our offer is accepted by this coming Monday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, am holding my breath, and am smooshing my face up in a wincing/smiling manner. Can you see it? Good thing I didn't post a photo of me doing this. Scary. I'll keep you posted as things develop. So excited and nervous!<br /><br />And by the way, isn't this photo that has nothing to do with my topic really dreamy? I love how clean, fresh, and organized it appears to be. If only every corner of my home looked this way right now.Monica Yvettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09028176661102281160noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7995040793354536290.post-29124805142761036612007-07-16T13:26:00.001-07:002007-07-16T13:53:50.756-07:00Revolving Display Decor<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbU9Yc6c-UEMGfQPp9NKaN03_eworW10US5Z33LcI8O7_GjoMDF6dZ4nnT3bxYngppiHnWjzbfrF5YMWBaVraZUMx2J1Ray5Tcx-TjaDk0ltQLaoic8c49xqOQcHnxRnWB3_4N7P_EQwI/s1600-h/revolver.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbU9Yc6c-UEMGfQPp9NKaN03_eworW10US5Z33LcI8O7_GjoMDF6dZ4nnT3bxYngppiHnWjzbfrF5YMWBaVraZUMx2J1Ray5Tcx-TjaDk0ltQLaoic8c49xqOQcHnxRnWB3_4N7P_EQwI/s400/revolver.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5087894557135712434" border="0" /></a>You can probably tell that I've been in a bit of a decorating mood lately. Well, yesterday I was struck with the desire to change my revolving upper cabinet display. I do this from time to time because it's the first thing you see when you walk into the house, and I think it is nice to be greeted by an attractive vignette.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgy4WCa9hVqShueoQSqlwJCd-Qi8LcXTTSSVII29wCF3z0q4U7hg-2eU_A8UI4337hlEe6_VOX5nDfh15E65NyYR1ydwCmHrvg5MniDrN4-h1f7NqqNKU31LiK9XvgfpIM_vo3clvyIorg/s1600-h/revolver+2.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgy4WCa9hVqShueoQSqlwJCd-Qi8LcXTTSSVII29wCF3z0q4U7hg-2eU_A8UI4337hlEe6_VOX5nDfh15E65NyYR1ydwCmHrvg5MniDrN4-h1f7NqqNKU31LiK9XvgfpIM_vo3clvyIorg/s400/revolver+2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5087894419696758946" border="0" /></a>Possibly, I got this obsession of mine from Feng Shui, in which you are supposed to have a nice piece of art work in your line of site upon entrance to a room. Now, I may as well start hanging crystals from the doorways to promote good chi!<br /><br />In all seriousness though, the house does seem to feel much better now than before when, in my opinion, the cabinet display was a bit untidy.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi68Q9Z7fld78kpsV2akpUnCpWAhHibE7PgR6cXn_NAV4rpEinlgbw6I8k6Rf-IFPRVSgDAiSPd69ie_IZRZ9IvpvTaRjkyoIUDTFyfeLoGG6CyguQ2U0POXtHIaW8CxGg7eSFrmx2vDYw/s1600-h/display.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi68Q9Z7fld78kpsV2akpUnCpWAhHibE7PgR6cXn_NAV4rpEinlgbw6I8k6Rf-IFPRVSgDAiSPd69ie_IZRZ9IvpvTaRjkyoIUDTFyfeLoGG6CyguQ2U0POXtHIaW8CxGg7eSFrmx2vDYw/s400/display.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5087894222128263314" border="0" /></a>Here is a fuzzy photo (I really need a tripod) of the front door corner of the house, which is a mostly unused entrance. I've been trying to figure out what to do with this nook for a while now. Eventually, I may turn it into a bar ware and liquor storage area. Don't get me wrong, I really don't drink enough for this to be a necessary addition. I just think it would be nice for entertaining purposes.<br /><br />If you are wondering, I painted the art work in this photo, and drew the framed piece atop the cabinets in the previous pictures. The huge Starbucks mug is not meant for consumption, and I <span style="font-style: italic;">do</span> play the djimbe drum once in a while. No, it's not a bongo, but I'm not entirely sure that I spelled "<span style="font-style: italic;">djimbe</span>" correctly either.Monica Yvettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09028176661102281160noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7995040793354536290.post-91565425165933291772007-07-12T19:50:00.001-07:002007-07-12T20:32:14.031-07:00Less Vs. We talked about how most people buy more house than they need and end up paying a massive mortgage when they could otherwise be using their money for more profitable endeavors. One day, we vowed, we'd build and live in a micro home.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhj6N6E1qE-fa6jNupjRPV6CaLyQevKgzkwYavHy795NT1Is6wbKdhXzOOpalMibgGWQ7CH6ofPu98DoNzvBi66YpClToMKFOzNBysvrtACZGyZAHOdC1MmyQ_Vb9Fi2BT6wqpqOnr8Dlk/s1600-h/hssbs310_3A_closet_w609.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhj6N6E1qE-fa6jNupjRPV6CaLyQevKgzkwYavHy795NT1Is6wbKdhXzOOpalMibgGWQ7CH6ofPu98DoNzvBi66YpClToMKFOzNBysvrtACZGyZAHOdC1MmyQ_Vb9Fi2BT6wqpqOnr8Dlk/s400/hssbs310_3A_closet_w609.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5086509017865891826" border="0" /></a>Now, I know you are probably thinking that we had some pretty crazy notions, and that our new love for one another was seriously getting to our heads. Well, we still think it's a valid idea, and maybe one day we'll down size. These photos were all taken from the HGTV website. All of these homes are 900 square feet or less. It just goes to show that you can do a whole lot with just a little space.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhK9YnoxAL66nsCBUR0sC18WqMelGQMVdP8Dc56kS3ZXJKfYw44j-TktrVGjVvfbGnFAqRbVmegQbktvZ1ZJouFUCsnEKij8u82x4ojl-jEfUQhdXjNFUnsHlSyDrATNgf7_tF2J0uEFqo/s1600-h/hssbs308_2B_lounge_w609.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhK9YnoxAL66nsCBUR0sC18WqMelGQMVdP8Dc56kS3ZXJKfYw44j-TktrVGjVvfbGnFAqRbVmegQbktvZ1ZJouFUCsnEKij8u82x4ojl-jEfUQhdXjNFUnsHlSyDrATNgf7_tF2J0uEFqo/s400/hssbs308_2B_lounge_w609.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5086508854657134562" border="0" /></a>In a lot of cases, I think that small homes are cozier, more friendly, and inviting. Since there is a shortage on square footage, it forces one to pair down possessions and to really think about what one's money is spent on. I mean, do you really need one more comforter set when you already have 2 and only one bed?Monica Yvettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09028176661102281160noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7995040793354536290.post-5378604440158805932007-07-10T19:37:00.000-07:002007-07-10T21:00:23.877-07:007 Random Facts<div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1lIdK8VHO6Ct9OMxsQfWEL46Z99yfLsWfiviPhGqgi9yRNlMJWGOeTRS3IX2_lvV5eZndplPZqm4SLS5uQHXrY3ScDk-l7j1-fhz582boqHruWX6hpDkFJQszoL9affzB8N-vePtJN-4/s1600-h/img_charmer.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1lIdK8VHO6Ct9OMxsQfWEL46Z99yfLsWfiviPhGqgi9yRNlMJWGOeTRS3IX2_lvV5eZndplPZqm4SLS5uQHXrY3ScDk-l7j1-fhz582boqHruWX6hpDkFJQszoL9affzB8N-vePtJN-4/s400/img_charmer.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5085771659581457090" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:85%;">New Orleans artist unknown</span><br /></div><br />I've been tagged! What a treat for my cousin Kayla and I to get the complementary warm water, hand scrub, and moisturizing treatment. It's a multitasking, antibacterial, non-toxic cleanser. You customize the scent to your liking, and it drowns out the usual harsh chemical smell that most products have.<br /><br />There are over 200 fragrances to choose from that can be mixed and matched. They have "menus" with plenty of great scent combo suggestions. I chose Pink Sugar, Spring Fling., and it is yummy. Who knew that I could ever be so excited to go home and clean? I'm telling you, it's a dream product! I didn't know I even had that much energy to spare, but suddenly I was moving heavy furniture, sweeping, and clutter busting like a woman hopped up on too much caffeine. This is a view of the other side of the room, which I've never shown until now. I love to sit on the daybed and look out of the big arch window at the massive old pecan trees, the magnolia, and the sky.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIHiLLuFCMhhkN6-3D0mHbDDBIiwKcHRS5bLjBd9yZQ5i8c10IN-u9y1HE1bvHAqSmqro7U6YfmA4s08oYRMypGllldEWtWYkkxBrwhk9UnJeGCtLCHY11OiJNE8O6CzppS3tb-rQfv1w/s1600-h/PICT0929.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIHiLLuFCMhhkN6-3D0mHbDDBIiwKcHRS5bLjBd9yZQ5i8c10IN-u9y1HE1bvHAqSmqro7U6YfmA4s08oYRMypGllldEWtWYkkxBrwhk9UnJeGCtLCHY11OiJNE8O6CzppS3tb-rQfv1w/s400/PICT0929.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5080901407185961266" border="0" /></a><br />Eventually, I think I'll outfit the daybed with large backing pillows, and bolster pillows for the sides, making it more of a sofa than a bed. This bookshelf, above, is a 3 tiered vintage oak piece that my mom and I searched for when I was a child. It's exactly what I had wanted, and we were so thrilled to find it at a large flea market in Shreveport, La. I love the memory of that day when I discovered rock candy and antiques. This time, the images are from her other show, <a href="http://www.designinc.ca/home/">Design Inc.</a> Just like her other web site, you can scroll through photos of every room she's done so far for the t.v. series.<br /><br />I really like the colors in the above room. They are so fun and vibrant, especially with all of the patterned fabric and accessories dotted here and there. It almost feels like a Pier 1 ad, but somehow way cooler.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVg65-iO1f5LbMrx1lKkEBag5s69Ye6zZUTzIywa0-rgMNQz9xJbFaXKr1nVU1ZBNRC-5DqrsYAZ-TLRPJUvksly2274Iey6zBUAtVpRtJGhTm4khTLd-zyo364ZrNEYaZ3p24bglCpj4/s1600-h/design+inc+2.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVg65-iO1f5LbMrx1lKkEBag5s69Ye6zZUTzIywa0-rgMNQz9xJbFaXKr1nVU1ZBNRC-5DqrsYAZ-TLRPJUvksly2274Iey6zBUAtVpRtJGhTm4khTLd-zyo364ZrNEYaZ3p24bglCpj4/s400/design+inc+2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5079754662146272210" border="0" /></a><br />For some time now, I've been a huge fan of <a href="http://www.hoteldesignmagazine.com/hoteldesign/static/staticHtml.jsp?id=372217">hotel style design</a>, and I think these next two photos capture that ambiance perfectly. They are simple, and chic. I would just love to have this black and white room transplanted into my home. I usually don't like the idea of copying a designer room because I think it's too impersonal, but for a look like this, I can make an exception.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvKNVr-Udogd6bemy2RLF473PRbJwD6-H-LmfK235ae565EhsvUIbc7KzwYMJh2cJezzcIBHUU04msfaSvzuwwPXaYWY2-liQKRlt_TD_8KyFKorcuouhArNHkoRBihE_wgQ-uHeieB4M/s1600-h/design+inc.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvKNVr-Udogd6bemy2RLF473PRbJwD6-H-LmfK235ae565EhsvUIbc7KzwYMJh2cJezzcIBHUU04msfaSvzuwwPXaYWY2-liQKRlt_TD_8KyFKorcuouhArNHkoRBihE_wgQ-uHeieB4M/s400/design+inc.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5079754584836860866" border="0" /></a> Finally, this last room is so yummy and girly to me. I seem to gravitate toward color combos of pink and chocolate brown. Originally, I wanted to use this color pairing as my YD brand image logo, but decided against it after all because I thought the pink would put some ladies off. I believe that a lot of women see pink as a symbol of weakness, and in this womens' lib day and age, pink has been relegated to a color just for little girls. It's a shame, really.Monica Yvettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09028176661102281160noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7995040793354536290.post-77206460781119312382007-06-20T08:43:00.001-07:002007-06-20T08:48:06.702-07:00Ah, the Smell of Work<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9NvDMAkKPmCGTaR_2kxkDgkihwHDEX_3x6SwOYQVQqObhFuGZYDN_XmiSwVnUA-jLSdfS08pINJ1XM-kziKe1ZKuzrQJnQ6Kx2OWinHyYf3_UcFfp6O-weTvvFjlEgYinEOZD0GDKMcQ/s1600-h/503228746_c065ea9711.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9NvDMAkKPmCGTaR_2kxkDgkihwHDEX_3x6SwOYQVQqObhFuGZYDN_XmiSwVnUA-jLSdfS08pINJ1XM-kziKe1ZKuzrQJnQ6Kx2OWinHyYf3_UcFfp6O-weTvvFjlEgYinEOZD0GDKMcQ/s400/503228746_c065ea9711.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5078172885820697426" border="0" /></a><br />Ah, serenity and beauty. Joy! My favorite day of the week. Since I am kind of particular when it comes to aesthetics, I only buy Ivory soap because it's well, ...white and it floats too! That's actually part of their gimmick. "The soap that floats." Anyway...<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDB9slJAhKCawgxYuBMmJxy8MSNdC_r-uBAtlYpJUgg82UupDZCetw1KoiNBG46KzLxDTZfEqKM7ZvAhlBsjbr0fdeJwS0qCFVAUW93vlPVmeewettk16S6po3DXei0oe01DlsZg3NhAs/s1600-h/mirror+image.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDB9slJAhKCawgxYuBMmJxy8MSNdC_r-uBAtlYpJUgg82UupDZCetw1KoiNBG46KzLxDTZfEqKM7ZvAhlBsjbr0fdeJwS0qCFVAUW93vlPVmeewettk16S6po3DXei0oe01DlsZg3NhAs/s400/mirror+image.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5077918344583899890" border="0" /></a>Late last week, the hubby and I went to Target to pick up some things including a massive package of soap. This meant, of course, that I was going to have to individually unwrap 16 bars. Usually, this is not particularly enjoyable, but this time I noticed that the wrappers were like little fortune cookies, or even like little Mr. Miyagi's dispensing wisdom and truth.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhvZx8hU7JTHR8sSl_BLZn6XyNAlhmFRax6KLo4AyrhZ3OtMnZpP5YQfhZavJCMo3sTNdDb5LYof_C5SnVGWQiXxVGiwzTFrupVyIXCO_d42jepuMlzM2ams734cY30iXElqQCAg-2H1A/s1600-h/shelf.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhvZx8hU7JTHR8sSl_BLZn6XyNAlhmFRax6KLo4AyrhZ3OtMnZpP5YQfhZavJCMo3sTNdDb5LYof_C5SnVGWQiXxVGiwzTFrupVyIXCO_d42jepuMlzM2ams734cY30iXElqQCAg-2H1A/s400/shelf.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5077918250094619362" border="0" /></a>Each and every bar shared a new philosophy. I was intrigued, so I thought I'd take the time to share. I also kind of wished that I had opened them all individually, as needed, instead of getting all of my life lessons in one pop. Here, my friends, are squeaky clean lessons straight from the soap wrapper:<br /><div style="text-align: center;"> *Happiness is not a destination, it is a journey, pure and simple.<br /> *Making the simple complicated is easy; making the complicated simple is brilliance.<br /> *If you want to be free, learn to live simply.<br /></div>Monica Yvettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09028176661102281160noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7995040793354536290.post-37064504809424309562007-06-18T06:22:00.000-07:002007-06-18T06:34:44.885-07:00Big Bird and Tall Tales<div style="text-align: center;">I was just reading <a href="http://mybellacolle.blogspot.com/2007/06/wow-i-learned-something-new.html">My Bella Colle's</a> blog and thought the Sesame Street Quiz was hilarious. These quizzes are pretty accurate.<br />You know what's funny about this? When my mom was a kid, she had a school assignment to write a short story for underprivileged children who didn't have books to read. Everyone's stories were mailed off all over the country.<br />My mom's story was about this giant yellow bird that was a friend to all children. This was long before Sesame Street, mind you. Then, when I was a child singing along to "<span style="font-style: italic;">...tell me how to, how to get..." </span>my mom was shocked to see the Big Bird character. She's still quite suspicious that some big shot read her story and stole her character idea.<br />Kind of ironic, right?<br /></div>Monica Yvettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09028176661102281160noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7995040793354536290.post-33496433113011195932007-06-15T08:07:00.000-07:002007-06-15T08:13:31.081-07:00More Jewelry!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlElxhQ11cpvafqEuDm4Xg9QI_0U4makTH8CNhZ30JpwvLL_gQ-5gx9lfu7Qa7rOqbvlpFsZjDUgdnW44GJdyQxDdlYQga6SqdT22IizYFs-cOefEUBZ2slOHmT66dTkQyZFvhl8RlXWU/s1600-h/ring.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlElxhQ11cpvafqEuDm4Xg9QI_0U4makTH8CNhZ30JpwvLL_gQ-5gx9lfu7Qa7rOqbvlpFsZjDUgdnW44GJdyQxDdlYQga6SqdT22IizYFs-cOefEUBZ2slOHmT66dTkQyZFvhl8RlXWU/s400/ring.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5076308221474171602" border="0" /></a>Would you believe that I bought this one too? As it turns out, I was completely seduced by a ring that has been sitting in the "Special Box" for months. The Special Box, for your information, is where we keep all of the fine jewelry worth eagerly snatching up from people who come in to sell their pre-loved jewelry. The goods are refurbished and are then subsequently released to find new and caring owners. <br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmbZLFbMToydsIZ3Qy2HCcI4V7B3XjgTZm1oDWJOKZOfUWCVqS9jGDP6c2AFNkxCRucMs-4B9DiHedQExhgII4vEha0VniGeuCoc2dX6K06kCsojEgKe_MmhL2Aju7D3ToyOT89xVDiwI/s1600-h/original.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 299px; height: 187px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmbZLFbMToydsIZ3Qy2HCcI4V7B3XjgTZm1oDWJOKZOfUWCVqS9jGDP6c2AFNkxCRucMs-4B9DiHedQExhgII4vEha0VniGeuCoc2dX6K06kCsojEgKe_MmhL2Aju7D3ToyOT89xVDiwI/s400/original.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5076088860314495410" border="0" /></a><br />See, this is my first and relatively new wedding set. I have long been a fan of these things, but in the recent past was overtaken by more subtle pallets like the home decor of <a href="http://yvettedesignsit.blogspot.com/2007/05/decorating-and-pretty-pictures.html">Sarah Richardson</a> (previous post).<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFDquw3nicUpaaW_i8AjG8M2MfcjlG0mhLFJpg0TntIYU5HBBpQRaNnbbgxdTNGKQu-toK_pneK_0Z6ak-DpIVaScNtevNGZGBo53I56iQH3vnBnx-lGZHQ18Ec6lw-Hv5LzGCzT8yl-Q/s1600-h/bust.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFDquw3nicUpaaW_i8AjG8M2MfcjlG0mhLFJpg0TntIYU5HBBpQRaNnbbgxdTNGKQu-toK_pneK_0Z6ak-DpIVaScNtevNGZGBo53I56iQH3vnBnx-lGZHQ18Ec6lw-Hv5LzGCzT8yl-Q/s400/bust.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5074628993321233106" border="0" /></a><br />Can't you see this metal bust being heavily adorned with beaded baubles? Gators where I had one yummy Pina Colada. [Good Drink + Good Company=Good Time] I really did not expect to get so much. It was a huge surprise for me to receive greeting cards stuffed full of money and to get gift cards to my favorite stores, (so pretty I almost didn't want to use them, see next paragraph)!<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsaa5JgQFkcKONB-_xvmAyS5TYIumDa7K80cyqYhW3KAdALoqJscD_yuEruo3dDecYsn-DQIuhKlMqFDoi7Ektr2WawXOhuC-ctNTzbL50_yCiSgv2i590Psq7_LW0PbzzO6hnVBEmns8/s1600-h/gator+b.d..jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsaa5JgQFkcKONB-_xvmAyS5TYIumDa7K80cyqYhW3KAdALoqJscD_yuEruo3dDecYsn-DQIuhKlMqFDoi7Ektr2WawXOhuC-ctNTzbL50_yCiSgv2i590Psq7_LW0PbzzO6hnVBEmns8/s400/gator+b.d..jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5072204147098988082" border="0"></a>I'm sure you can guess what happened next. I went to spend my birthday money, of course! My favorite purchase of the day, at this time, is a pair of dial up weights from Target. I aim to get buff, or at least to not be so fluffy. Though, a close second favorite would be my Victoria's Secret p.j.'s of which I am now pleased to be languorously lounging in. Trey calls them my circus clown pants and at random times will burst into song" Ya ta da-da...". I may decide to lift weights in them later, which would make me the "Amazingly Strong Woman" minus any freakish side effects such as a beard.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVGNjBYYa_0hU0H8yiPzf-R3J92-VqY23Vl_t7ijH7549YFwbXFxeMoWb9LyURyVdykaF9_w-YUiJFQs8x6Mf6qvSycp2OGNTXDcI3k8FREVJctT4VoUoMTKrQmRtwaN2aEC1FNTq07mk/s1600-h/p.j..jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVGNjBYYa_0hU0H8yiPzf-R3J92-VqY23Vl_t7ijH7549YFwbXFxeMoWb9LyURyVdykaF9_w-YUiJFQs8x6Mf6qvSycp2OGNTXDcI3k8FREVJctT4VoUoMTKrQmRtwaN2aEC1FNTq07mk/s400/p.j..jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5072203824976440866" border="0"></a>After the gratifying shopping excursion, "Who says money can't buy happiness?", Trey and I arrived home where we met with my cousin Kayla who made me Red Velvet Cupcakes. My favorite! While greedily indulging in junk food, we watched a surprisingly good movie, "Stranger Than Fiction", which is what I, hands down, consider a happy ending.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlLjVTnRJN6jUmA-9LAg1ygesBzofMjseMuuwDdL8iLEatVF1G1eR7Dxz2Je7pX9ED3EspoTbZzIS5FZr5SWsJecvQrK3tPq75VvKHV1FuJY9egy6x8VxfQr3ICsLweyC6YEKOc8HRf_0/s1600-h/6.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlLjVTnRJN6jUmA-9LAg1ygesBzofMjseMuuwDdL8iLEatVF1G1eR7Dxz2Je7pX9ED3EspoTbZzIS5FZr5SWsJecvQrK3tPq75VvKHV1FuJY9egy6x8VxfQr3ICsLweyC6YEKOc8HRf_0/s400/6.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5072198812749606370" border="0"></a>Monica Yvettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09028176661102281160noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7995040793354536290.post-74588638537421269442007-05-30T12:51:00.000-07:002007-05-30T13:26:13.551-07:00In My Closet of Old<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaE2xqjuvHKP4bDjDjkIsqKOrNV-XuOKnQhgjY2so3j5QCw_5bGgmSZJb8ColI238XsMQB5xuOPibDtY90DReGj2ppWlP4fagTGzX1PV0bYDBIUjihy5q3jt3-rVjLOmYk0GXp0GCJiAs/s1600-h/dummy+1.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaE2xqjuvHKP4bDjDjkIsqKOrNV-XuOKnQhgjY2so3j5QCw_5bGgmSZJb8ColI238XsMQB5xuOPibDtY90DReGj2ppWlP4fagTGzX1PV0bYDBIUjihy5q3jt3-rVjLOmYk0GXp0GCJiAs/s400/dummy+1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5070446637891530194" border="0" /></a>Here is a look into the closet of my past. I think it's much more interesting than my current status <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">quot</span> "adult" wardrobe. Some of you will probably wonder if I actually wore this stuff. Yes, I did. Very proudly. One of my recent posts "<span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Adolescence</span>" inspired me to do this one.<br /><br />The dress above is one that I got in a store in Soho, in NYC, when I was 16. It only cost $10 bucks, which is an amazing bargain if you've ever been shopping in the Soho! If I would've met my husband in the days when I wore this dress, black knee high boots and fishnets required, I believe he would have instantly fallen for me. (<span style="font-style: italic;">Shh! He still reads comic books.</span>)<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdpkCGJ5Q9BvZ94Q0DG6roP6FUJkGeUv6KPoCL2M0q2dsJFoE05AQVTUHlCxRyMvzp7cWI828kRc1T43fni5J8WDkrjjwh0N6-RzODb5qJsx_DNy_FTWa29B5Hr2XIkwKPZU0_yDbO1UQ/s1600-h/dummy+2.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdpkCGJ5Q9BvZ94Q0DG6roP6FUJkGeUv6KPoCL2M0q2dsJFoE05AQVTUHlCxRyMvzp7cWI828kRc1T43fni5J8WDkrjjwh0N6-RzODb5qJsx_DNy_FTWa29B5Hr2XIkwKPZU0_yDbO1UQ/s400/dummy+2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5070446397373361602" border="0" /></a>This wrinkled and stained little number was once a lot cleaner looking. Don't know how or when the stains happened. I got it in New Orleans, when I lived there, at my favorite thrift store on Magazine St. called The Fuzzy Monkey. Man, I have some great memories of the times I wore this dress. Concerts, parties, that time I had too much to drink at the Flogging Molly show and got sick all over Toulouse St. Um, yeah, I digress.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6u2RXHqg-hoWCxH-qpfAoTFHqLpZgttuFsjvZXgAVJCEll_hMg-vcf_f6lVDkFIUuculkpIwPbhC6Sn9xa6areSzdONWSLubDNie_siEXucgi5xZKKJfVsmzxbu5kC15qFZuKUyUfWUs/s1600-h/dummy+3.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6u2RXHqg-hoWCxH-qpfAoTFHqLpZgttuFsjvZXgAVJCEll_hMg-vcf_f6lVDkFIUuculkpIwPbhC6Sn9xa6areSzdONWSLubDNie_siEXucgi5xZKKJfVsmzxbu5kC15qFZuKUyUfWUs/s400/dummy+3.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5070446199804865970" border="0" /></a><br />Lastly, but not least, is my patchwork hippie skirt. This thing was made with lots of love. It's in the details. I got it in <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">Ruston</span>, LA. when I was going to the university there, La Tech. There was this little hole in the wall thrift store off the main drag, Trenton St. Don't remember what it was called, but the little old lady there was so nice. My boyfriend at the time, Gary, and I helped her to clean her store for free. She just had a lot on her plate, and we liked her so much. I wonder what happened to her.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Disclaimer:</span> <span style="font-style: italic;">The clothing you have just seen look a whole lot better when worn by the little, short artist girl who owns them. It's an early birthday gift. A little bundle of joy that I've affectionately named Eggbert. Eggbert the iPod. The features on this thing are enough to keep slow times at the day job fun. It has the capacity to hold full length movies, t.v. shows, and thousands of photos, as well as 7,500 songs that I can download straight from the net without ever having to go to the store.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvFkCFzrhz9-R_DrOtGP6YguIRWL6z9vTm9M-9ntfT2_CpmpDhhGSjKBxsv5Q_Xi_RW-j43Yz0VBrCIdu4UIVyEHAlDh8rriakpM15oK9kmMU3VK8ZNuD69WxfFGlSu0ru_CVaelX_hKA/s1600-h/eggie.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvFkCFzrhz9-R_DrOtGP6YguIRWL6z9vTm9M-9ntfT2_CpmpDhhGSjKBxsv5Q_Xi_RW-j43Yz0VBrCIdu4UIVyEHAlDh8rriakpM15oK9kmMU3VK8ZNuD69WxfFGlSu0ru_CVaelX_hKA/s400/eggie.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5068922165019618658" border="0" /></a>Of course I'm excited about all of those features, but what I'm really pumped about is the photo capacity and quality. Now, I can keep a virtual portfolio of my jewelry designs everywhere I go. I can chat with the girl standing in line behind me at the Hobby Lobby, which has notoriously long lines, and show her what I do. Hand her a business card, and really get her excited about checking out my website. Hopefully, that is. So, there it is. I am so overindulged.Monica Yvettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09028176661102281160noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7995040793354536290.post-18641831247197861172007-05-23T11:52:00.001-07:002007-05-23T12:19:28.093-07:00Decorating and Pretty Pictures<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiwjVxTXw7LQaTWdytblppEKh8CII1LSeINP2zPj3E_tVhQNmk6iYmiK8qUneEVX2lWsLNlDzf012QW-IPWnm88uPfZ5kEIhvxAyjbEhThCwlPqm5dyqnd2pLxjFB-M2iDZyCY9MP-Z6A/s1600-h/11_2.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiwjVxTXw7LQaTWdytblppEKh8CII1LSeINP2zPj3E_tVhQNmk6iYmiK8qUneEVX2lWsLNlDzf012QW-IPWnm88uPfZ5kEIhvxAyjbEhThCwlPqm5dyqnd2pLxjFB-M2iDZyCY9MP-Z6A/s400/11_2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5067831552564079874" border="0" /></a><br />This morning, I watched a bit of t.v., a rare thing on a morning off from work. I happened to catch the last 15 minutes of a program that was my absolute favorite decorating show at one time. It's called <a href="http://www.roomservice.ca/home/">Room Service</a>, and the designer is Sarah Richardson. Her palates are very serene, and the show exudes simplicity, beauty, and restfulness.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaIxITxNizPx74AamaMLOMQJrXt6D23K6jG5cly1EffcIR5M1XOQpULEx52NqSmrqzgTPKfb5va64_X_p25yIDJLhCkt0N0sLFVM_8LccCwiqNmMR-uaPEQ7fFrhbDFA3KSuiWojxWNes/s1600-h/68_1.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaIxITxNizPx74AamaMLOMQJrXt6D23K6jG5cly1EffcIR5M1XOQpULEx52NqSmrqzgTPKfb5va64_X_p25yIDJLhCkt0N0sLFVM_8LccCwiqNmMR-uaPEQ7fFrhbDFA3KSuiWojxWNes/s400/68_1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5067831475254668530" border="0" /></a>These are all photos of rooms she has done on different episodes of Room Service. If you go to her website, you will see so many more simple, yet luxurious rooms. ( For those of you who may be looking for home decorating ideas, it's a great place to get inspired.) The photo above is a little cottage on the lot off the side of the owner's home. It makes me dream about the cottage that my mom and I have been wanting to build in the yard between our two houses.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdLcgKnFjYou_RsLuhFSv7gk_Gj8H-fam5WXCl8l17NiyzRXg52owxO1oFR6Oq4c92_1GzpcXUsq_yKC2XAO6AP8sZuO3wx5LdVqNoi0VcfeqN5AQJTEyA8Wk63rC1Sq-ULkQlFNk9zLY/s1600-h/48_1.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdLcgKnFjYou_RsLuhFSv7gk_Gj8H-fam5WXCl8l17NiyzRXg52owxO1oFR6Oq4c92_1GzpcXUsq_yKC2XAO6AP8sZuO3wx5LdVqNoi0VcfeqN5AQJTEyA8Wk63rC1Sq-ULkQlFNk9zLY/s400/48_1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5067831342110682338" border="0" /></a><br />If only my little shotgun home in New Orleans would have been as stylish as this (above)! Well, the architecture in the place was great, but how I wish Sarah Richardson could have injected some of her magical style into the decor. The city was magic, though, so I can't really complain.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFh1ahCZ20lKksHm9ihdsNC98JmablEh_37NnI3fKBBt86Xapyq2aJ5orxLWsY5LSh16drG-1GLmeojJSmYUZAn2qTmrMXI55UI87z0toENiWq8M9HPi7-_l7GYZIGNAjfVnQFD8H8h4Y/s1600-h/27_1.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFh1ahCZ20lKksHm9ihdsNC98JmablEh_37NnI3fKBBt86Xapyq2aJ5orxLWsY5LSh16drG-1GLmeojJSmYUZAn2qTmrMXI55UI87z0toENiWq8M9HPi7-_l7GYZIGNAjfVnQFD8H8h4Y/s400/27_1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5067831247621401810" border="0" /></a><br />Next, I added this image because, first of all, I love claw foot tubs. Also, this room seems to bring to mind a lavish past where the inhabitant was a lady of privilege. Check out the chandelier! How many people do you know who have a chandelier in their bath room? When we were building our home, I tried to convince Trey that it was absolutely necessary to have one in our master bath, but he thought it was ridiculous. Oh, but I can dream.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUGdQherE8d9qH_O2poizhIKleZsnEkaw-OwELjs-PrdXE1_S8oHd3w-fEl75klGf9IhlJASBd47nSRLatMRIT-IiKuDCm1BGjs5nsG_ClVlWKOeG5Vxu6baV5u5qkWYXao9_PZZ8VT9g/s1600-h/102_1.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUGdQherE8d9qH_O2poizhIKleZsnEkaw-OwELjs-PrdXE1_S8oHd3w-fEl75klGf9IhlJASBd47nSRLatMRIT-IiKuDCm1BGjs5nsG_ClVlWKOeG5Vxu6baV5u5qkWYXao9_PZZ8VT9g/s400/102_1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5067831084412644546" border="0" /></a><br />Lastly, I added this photo because I don't think it really needs much of an <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">explanation</span>. It really speaks for itself. It says, "Come hither. I am the <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">boudoir</span>."Monica Yvettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09028176661102281160noreply@blogger.com2
